The River Roe is noted for its salmon and sea trout. Sea trout fishing is at its best after dark on fly or on a dropping flood during the day. With the right conditions salmon and sea trout can be found in the River Roe from May onwards.

Directions
- The river below O’Cahan’s Rock is best fished from the left or northern bank. This is approached from the A2 just west of Limavady, by the B69 south to Claudy, turning left after 0.74 miles onto the B192 to Dungiven.
- The road to the river is 0.74 miles further on the left (signposted). The Dogleap area is signposted and best approached from the B68 Limavady-Dungiven road.
