Consultation description
Following the adoption of a Private Members’ Motion on animal cruelty on 31 March 2014, the Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development, Michelle O’Neill initiated a Review of the Implementation of the Welfare of Animals Act (NI) 2011. The Review is being carried out in conjunction with the Department of Justice. An Interim Report has now been produced, which shows the progress of the Review to date, and sets out the emerging thinking and recommendations.
We would welcome your comments and any further evidence you would like the Review to consider before a Final Report is published later this year.
The consultation will open on Thursday 26 February 2015 and has been extended to now close on Thursday 21st May 2015. Any responses received after this date will not be considered.
